MUSICALS - Performing rights

Me and My Girl

We are very pleased to announce that the rights to ME AND MY GIRL have been re -released for amateurs.

The Drama League of Ireland licenses Samuel French musicals only - however we are happy to assist in the sourcing of all musical rights on application to our office. As with the plays, it is essential to check that amateur performing rights for musicals are available before casting and rehearsals begin. Musical rights are withdrawn for various reasons -a West End run/revival, a professional touring production, or pending a film version.

Having established that the rights are in place, perusal material may be obtained for certain shows,eg THE WIZ and GREASE.  This is sent out on loan for one month, and when the school/musical society decides that they want to proceed with the show, a contract is drawn up in the DLI office.

CHICAGO and BLOOD BROTHERS are totally withdrawn from amateur performance

(the dramatised version ONLY of BLOOD BROTHERS is available on application to the DLI office - this version contains one song - "Marilyn Monroe".)

Grease

As of 1 June 2010, there is a change of agency for all GREASE-related business in the UK and Ireland. All future queries should be directed to Steve Spiegel at Theatrical Rights Worldwide in the USA: steves@theatricalrights.com
Contracts already issued by Drama League of Ireland will of course be honoured.  Please contact Valerie in the DLI office should you need further information on this, or on any other Samuel French musical.
