The DLI Library has an extensive collection of classic and contemporary full length and one act plays. We have long out-of-print nineteenth and early twentieth century Irish writers on the shelves, as well as theatrical biographies and stagecraft studies. Please consider donating your plays or theatre related books to the DLI library.

Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 restrictions, the dlr Mill Theatre in Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin 16 is closed, so there is currently no access to the DLI Library to borrow plays.

As soon as restrictions are lifted we will be delighted to send you out scripts, so feel free to email your requests, and they will be dealt with as soon as we can manage it.

• Plays can be posted out to members on a one month loan. Cheques or postal orders made out to The Drama League of Ireland should accompany scripts when returned.

Search Tips

Searching by Title If you are looking for a play by title, occasionally the search might generate a longer list with near matches instead of an exact match. To avoid this, try entering the Key Word..e.g. Don't Dress for Dinner, enter Dress OR Dinner. Similarly for titles beginning with pronouns or prepositions "The" "A" "And" "Its" etc. search instead by the Key Word (noun or verb) to narrow your search result.

Searching by Author If searching by Author just enter the surname only for a more accurate result, not first name.
